Wink will bring his experiences as a CODA, a professional interpreter for nearly 20 years, and as a doctoral student in the PhD program at Gallaudet’s Linguistics department. He will provide a glimpse into how linguists and researchers in general think about and approach problems in varying fields. Specifically those issues in the interpreting field that can be illuminated by what we know from the linguistics field, and how these foundations can be applied to interpreting to define what an interpreter actually does and how to measure it. |
